February

We had a fabulous February, both boys played basketball every Saturday. Justin had his first job; he got to referee Jr. Jazz games. WOW! getting paid to do something he loves, play.

Jared's sixth grade did the musical Suesical. Jared had a leading role in his class. He did so good, he's teacher said he needs to go into acting. I tried to get him to sign up for drama in 7th grade but he said no.

Justin also played indoor soccer (FUTSAL) every Fri. or Sat. Which he loved. His team was undefeated. There were days I think that's all he did. He would go to basketball practice in the morning, stay for school, go to High School soccer, then to club soccer, and then home to eat and off to young men's basketball practice. Play, Play, Play, It's a good thing he has lots of energy. When he crashes he crashes hard.

Pres. weekend Kirk, Jared and Krista went to a cabin up by Park City that Kirk's cousin had gotten. They had a great time playing in the snow and playing with a bunch of cousins.
Justin and I went to Phoenix to a soccer tournament. We had a great time too. It wasn't really hot, it was just good soccer weather. The team played great. They were undefeated, but didn't win the tournament. His coach calls him the energizer bunny. He thought that was alright. We stayed at my friends grandma's house close by the fields, it wasn't warm enough to swim, but Justin couldn't pass up the chance.

Krista was a great cheerleader with all the games she went to, she even wanted to do a mini cheer camp. So, we signed her up for the cheer camp that the high school was doing. She got to cheer during half time at one of the Riverton Basketball home games.

We also took the kids and went to the Draper Temple openhouse. It's very pretty and we can't wait to compare it to the other new temple opening up close to us.

What happened to January?

Not sure just where January went, but I know it's now February and I haven't had time to post any new pictures.
Kirk gave me a nice camera for Christmas that I'm learning to use. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some good pictures. I haven't downloaded any yet, but when I do; watch out.
January weekends were spent going to basketball games. It's so fun to watch your kids play, learn and grow. Justin has been playing for his Jr. High on the 9th grade team, Jared plays Jr. Jazz and Krista just gets to watch. She didn't want to play, which is fine; that would have made one more game. So sat. is pretty much basketball.
Other then that, we did choir with Krista and she wanted to try her skills at Cheerleading. The high school offered a mini cheer camp, so Krista and her friend yet. They got to cheer during half time at one of the high school games. She thought it was fun, and that's what matters. Pictures to come later.
We did make it to the Draper temple open house, which was very nice. The kids thought it was amazing.

Happy 2009!

It's 2009 and time to bring in the new year and set those goals you want to try to keep.
I decided not to make big goal; they never get accomplished, but to set little goals that maybe I can achieve. I haven't decided what they are going to be yet, but will make some soon.
We had a great Christmas, we spent Christmas day here at home with about a foot of new snow on the ground. We had to shovel that snow to get out of the driveway, the snow blower quit with the last big storm. We're waiting on a new engine for it. Hopefully that will be here before the next big storm.
Justin received a nice new indoor basketball with all the clothes he needs for the freshman team, and a nice new soccer ball.
Jared got his wish of a DS and a set of drums. Yes, I'm crazy, He's wanted to play the drums for a number of years now and I've put it off saying he had to play the piano first, well; after 3 piano teachers in the last year, we decided he could now play drums. He's played the piano for 3 1/2 years and ready to try something else.
Krista asked for an American girl doll and was happy to see one under the tree.
The day after christmas we made a quick trip down to St. George to try to get warm. It wasn't the warmest down there, but we had a good time. We took them a load of snow and left it on Grandpa's lawn.

Krista, live in Concert

Krista is 6th from the right bottom row

The sunday after Thanksgiving, Krista had her choir concert at the assembly hall (Temple Square). She tried out and made the Riverton Children Concert Choir this fall and they had their Christmas concert. She loves to sing and perform for any and all who will listen. After the concert since we were already there we walked around temple square to see the lights.

Monday night we had her piano recital, again anyone who wants to listen; she is more then happy to play. She is getting really good (if I do say so myself) and so far she still loves it. She has a wonderful teacher who loves teaching her. No it's not me!
